Overview:

We are seeking a Sales and Marketing Intern to join our Smyrna-based Tennessee & Kentucky regional hotel sales team who is looking for a position of responsibility and continued development, as well as a position which affords the ability to interact and collaborate with our senior management.
Project:
Reporting to our Regional Director of Hotel Sales, this internship will provide introduction to the fundamentals of business sales and marketing for a hotel ownership company with multiple locations and multiple hotel brands throughout Tennessee and Kentucky.
The intern will interact in a teaming arrangement with two additional Sales Directors, and support areas including sales administration, business development, and client prospecting. Selected candidate will also be involved in revenue management exercises, as well as the development and execution of marketing plans, including sales forecasting and trend analysis.
Skills Requested:
Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel. We are looking for a true type-A personality who exhibits strong traits of Leadership, Ownership and Winning Attitude.
Learning Objectives:
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are interested in learning first-hand about regional business sales and marketing, as well as a practical application of the business and marketing theories and practices learned in the classroom. Interns who are identified as demonstrating matching qualities to fit our organization may be considered for future job offers upon graduation.
Credit Bearing Internship Only.
This is an unpaid, credit-bearing internship which offers a flexible around school requirements. Minimum hours will be based upon the course requirements of the University or College that the intern is enrolled in.

This position is a perfect advancement opportunity for a current Executive Housekeeper who is looking to further develop her/his management and leadership talents in a corporation with a strong Pittsburgh-regional presence, or for an Assistant Executive Housekeep with a minimum one years' hotel housekeeping supervisory experience. In addition, this is a higher profile department management position due to the Holiday Inn Express being the home office for both our Regional Director of Hotel Operations and Regional Director of Hotel Sales.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will supervise the Housekeeping department, and develop and execute guest satisfaction improvement initiatives.
